Connections

The World Wide Web has a funny way of connecting people, doesn't it? Laura, an Online Brand Relations Manager for a company called Kate Apsen based in Georgia, discovered my blog a few weeks ago and asked if I would post some photos on her blog. So...I guess you could say we became blog friends.

Kate Aspen is a company that specializes in designing and manufacturing favors for events such as weddings, bachelorette parties, or baby showers. In other words, they produce the beautiful little details that photographers like me love to take gazillions of pictures of!

The Kate Aspen blog is a great place to be inspired with ideas for many different kinds of events. Thanks to my new friend Laura, a few of my pictures are posted today. Check out the link here. Happy blogging!

Mackinac Island

A few weeks ago my mom, cousin and I took a road trip to Mackinac Island, MI. If you haven't heard of Mackinac, it's an island right in between the upper and lower part of Michigan. The unique thing about this island is that there are no motorized vehicles allowed. Modes of transportation include bikes, horseback, or carriages. The original Victorian Style architecture has been preserved in all of the buildings, so between that and the horses clomping up and down the streets you feel like you've stepped back in time when you're on the island. It's a wonderful place.

The three of us had a great time on the trip. What a fabulous way to kick off summer! Here are just a few shots from the long weekend.

Taking pictures while riding a bike must be more dangerous than talking on a cell phone while driving.

Announcing the Photobooth!!!!

I have always gotten a kick out of pictures where people look goofy. Whether it's pinching and polarizing celebrities' faces in Photoshop (honestly, I've only done it once) or creating the most ridiculous looking pictures with friends in the photobooth program on my iMac (unfortunately, I have to admit to doing this much more than once), I can't seem to get enough. For this reason, I am thrilled to announce the addition of a real live photobooth to the Paper Lemon family. The booth has already proven to be a blast at weddings, and we've got a few graduation parties lined up for the spring. You can book the photobooth as an individual option for an event, or as part of a wedding package. Feel free to contact me (molly@paperlemonphotography.com) with questions or for rates. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy these photobooth samples as much as I do!

Chicago

Brandon and I went on a weekend getaway to Chicago in February and I am finally getting around to posting some (of the way too many) photos. I came to three conclusions after our trip:
1. I would love to have a better form of public transportation in the Twin Cities.
2. My husband is extremely patient and understanding when I want to stop to take pictures every 12 steps.
3. I should do weekend trips more often.

One of our first stops was this sculpture at Millenium Park. Photographers + cool reflective surface in a big city = too many hours of my life.

Mmm...moments away from Chicago's famous deep dish pizza. And a stomach ache.
